AmSpa Plans Conference With Dual-Track Format

The American Med Spa Association (AmSpa) and The Florida Health Care Law Firm will co-host a one-day conference at the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa (Miami) on April 13 with two seminar tracks to educate the entire medical spa staff. “We are thrilled to be hosting this event with our partnered health care attorneys,” says Alex Thiersch, founder and director of AmSpa. “These industry-focused educational events are genuinely needed, both to educate professionals on the legal landscape and to share tips on how to be successful.” The event will feature discussions led by local health care attorneys on the laws and regulations pertinent to medical esthetic, cosmetic, and laser industries in the state. Topics include fee splitting, corporate structure, OSHA and HIPAA compliance, and more. There are specific training sessions and workshops relevant for front-desk and support staff as well. These sessions will include hands-on instruction to medical facility support staff members on answering the phone, selling products and procedures, customer service, and more. “We’re very excited to offer this program,” says Cathy Christensen, executive director of operations and communications for AmSpa. “The addition of staff-training to the much-needed updates on medical aesthetics law will make this, we believe, the most unique and valuable program in the industry.” All attendees will also have an opportunity to mingle with colleagues following the program at the netowrking reception. Breakfast and lunch will be provided thanks to Environ Dermaconcepts as well as drinks and appetizers during the reception.

Registration is open and the early-bird discount is available through March 6 (register here). For more information on exhibiting at the conference, contact Gina Meyer-Shaffler ([email protected] 312-981-0993).
