The facelift utilizes a combination of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), which treats visible sun damage, including pigment spots, freckles, broken capillaries, and spider veins; and ultherapy, which enables surgeons to direct sound waves not on the surface of skin but deep under the skin to the same tissue addressed in surgery. This gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin.
