Hair Raising Trend

Aesthetic procedures are no longer just for women. Whether it’s to remain more confident, active in the workforce or attractive to the opposite gender, more men are turning to aesthetic enhancement for anti-aging than ever before. And what’s one of their main concerns? HAIR. A survey by The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) notes a 7 percent increase in the number of men undergoing hair transplantation in the past year.

This rise in hair restoration can be attributed largely to advanced technologies that incorporate robots and computer mediated technologies. The modern man is informed and looks to try systems that make the procedure not only faster and more comfortable but that allow him to return to work without downtime or linear scars. Research shows that hair restoration has evolved way beyond telltale plugs. The latest procedures allow for more predictable, highly natural outcomes that let men wear their hair in any style they like. “Men have always been self-conscious about balding, but hair restoration has a reputation for being painful and obvious,” said Edward Farrior, MD, President of the AAFPRS. “Thanks to the development of more accurate, less invasive technologies, men are now able to enjoy fuller, more youthful-looking hair without the drawbacks of previous systems.”
