New Study Reveals Limits of Plastic Surgery

Recent research revealed shocking findings that discredit the primary goal of people undergoing cosmetic surgery. The study, published this month in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, found patients who had facelifts had minimal improvement in appearance and perceived age change. On average, patients looked only three years younger and were rated the same level of attractiveness according to independent viewers’ assessment of before and after photos. The study results are far less impressive than common claims made by clinics that frequently boast facelifts will help clients take off ten years.
