Survey Reveals Notable Increase of Latinas Seeking Plastic Surgery

According to a recent survey by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), more Hispanic women are undergoing facial plastic surgery and are booking procedures in pairs, bringing along a female family member. AAFPRS members noted an increase in the number of Hispanic patients treated in 2012. The procedure of choice for these clients is a rhinoplasty, followed by facelifts and blepharoplasty. Patients aren’t booking appointments solo either; the AAFPRS reports a 16 percent increase in mother-daughter procedures and 12 percent increase in surgery for sisters.
