Recently, Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 2017 Star Award winners—a global group of the world’s finest hotels, restaurants and spas spanning the globe. Topping the 59th annual list were nine new five-star spas along with 35 new four-star spas. A panel of experts anonymously evaluated the standards of 162 destinations across 42 countries worldwide, marking the properties based on an algorithm that weighs service at 75 percent and facility quality at 25 percent.
