Beauty Companies Honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness monthOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, in 2015, breast cancer will claim the lives of an estimated 40,290 U.S. women. Here's a look at some of the philanthropic efforts of spa companies seeking to make a difference:

  • JUARA Skincare is collaborating with Cosmetic Executive Women’s Cancer & Careers this month JUARA will be donating 10 percent of proceeds from sales through the online boutique to CEW’s Cancer & Careers program.
  • Baby Foot, the all-natural foot exfoliant, and FlopZluxury flip-flops are donating sales of their Pink products to the cause. Baby Foot will donate $1 for every Pink Ribbon Baby Foot sold to the American Cancer Society. FlopZ will donate 20 percent of sales from their Pink FlopZ to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
  • The Estée Lauder Companies' 2015 Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign invites people to share meaningful ways to take action against breast cancer by making a donation on their website and through social media channels through the end of the year. Throughout the year, action initiative proposals from around the globe that are sent in will be curated and featured on their site. The multimedia project will be unveiled on World Cancer Day, Feb. 4, 2016.
  • Beauty Box, a monthly spa and beautysubscription service will feature a Pink Salt Body Scrub that is made with all natural Himalayan pink sea salt with 100 percent of proceeds going to Project Violet, which specializes in research of rare forms of cancer.
  • The Beauty Mark App establishes a one-on-one relationship with a makeup artist to guide women through the changes they may be experiencing while undergoing treatment or having just completed treatment for breast cancer.Women can swipe to create their own individual look then get step-by-step makeup application instructions. Available for download in the iTunes store for $2.99 or Beauty Mark Lite is available for 99 cents.
