Celebrate National Nutrition Month with Tips from Dr. Andrew Weill

Although March is coming to a close, there is still time to celebrate National Nutrition Month, which is recognized throughout the month of month. To help you and your clients make some positive steps to living a healthier life, Dr. Andrew Weill, who is a longtime proponent of integrative medicine as well as founder and director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Arizona, Tucson, offers the following tips:

Eat Mindfully. For example, consider adopting an Anti-Inflammatory Diet. Start by avoiding refined, processed food. Instead, aim for a variety of fresh food. Choose fruits and vegetables in a range of colors, especially berries, tomatoes, oranges, yellow fruits, and dark leafy greens. Also, incorporate anti-inflammatory spices such as chili, cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric.
