An Editor Gets Lasered at New York City's Pulse Laser Skincare Center

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Pulse Laser Skincare Center (New York City). Although I’ve had my share of laser hair removal sessions, I have to say this was one of the most hassle-free. The spa uses the Candela GentleLASE, which features the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD). The fact that it could treat a large area was a definite bonus over other lasers I’ve tried. I’ve had my legs treated in the past, and it certainly wasn’t painless. This time, I opted to have my underarms treated, a rather sensitive area, and was thrilled with the laser’s patented cooling mechanism. The burst of cool air definitely made it a less painful experience. Although I didn’t try any of the spa’s facial services, I was especially interested to hear about Pulse’s laser acne treatments. Knowing a number of people who have struggled with problem skin, it was reassuring to learn of a viable alternative to Accutane and other long-term antibiotics. Owned by three New York State dual-certified estheticians, this seven-treatment-room spa offers a range of solutions for various skincare needs.

I have heard that laser hair removal places in New York now have TVs mounted on the walls in the treatment rooms to keep the guest preoccupied while the service is in progress. Not a bad idea.
