After Hurricane Irene last year and Superstorm Sandy last month, it has become increasingly apparent the effect climate change is having on our planet. Unfortunately, we're all contributing in some way or another. That's why I'm always so happy to hear of ways I can undo some of the damage I've caused by supporting companies that make it a priority to fight against global climate change. For example, Eminence Organic Skin Care recently launched a new environmental initiative. As of yesterday, the company is planting one tree for every product sold. So, every time one of Eminence's active organic or Biodynamic products is purchased, a portion of the proceeds will go towards planting a tree to help improve air quality and support the world's natural resources. In the first year alone, Eminence is estimated to plant the equivalent of more than 1,000 football fields of trees. "We're so excited about our Forests for the Future initiative," says president and founder Boldijarre Koronczay. "Planting even just one tree can make such a difference. Deforestation is the leading cause of climate change. If we want to protect the future of our planet and our own health, tree planting has to be a part of the plan. We're committed to rebuilding and restoring the environment one product—and now one tree—at a time." What companies does your spa support because of their environmental stance?
