Farm to Facial Firsthand

Farm-to-table restaurants regularly top my list of places I want to try because of the fresh flavors, local connection, and seasonal variety. The latest spa variation, the farm-to-facial, brings those benefits and much more to treatment rooms. I was able to try a few offerings recently at Great Jones Spa (New York) and Lovella Salon (New York) and was blown away by the power of natural ingredients. Each step of the customized facials smelled good enough to eat and produced glowing results. The Dr. Alkaitis Skin Food Facial ($130, 60 minutes) at Great Jones Spa used all Dr. Alkaitis products including Cleanser, Toner, Soothing Gel, Nourishing Treatment Oil, and two masks, Enzyme Exfoliating and Cellular Repair. The masks are the main event for this treatment, containing a variety of organic berries and oat buds. I also sampled a treatment at Lovella Salon's Facial Bar, a new Repechage concept that makes skincare treatments accessible in salons and for busy clients. The treatment was customized for my combination skin and featured an aromatic honey almond mask followed by the cooling Seaweed Facial Mask. The chilled, pale goo is packed with pure fresh European seaweed and when applied it helps rejuvenate, tone, and firm the skin dramatically. With potent ingredients, even express facials produce lasting results and return clients.

Does your spa have any farm fresh treatments on the menu?
