High Energy Escape

The gym I frequent in the city is once again flooded with New York City residents prepping for the warm weather we all hope is just around the corner and if that doesn’t pan out, for sunny vacations. Ironically, oftentimes all that hard work is reversed once on vacation as decadent meals, lazy days, and flowing drinks take center stage. Guests at Westin resorts don’t need to fear packing on the pounds while out of town with the brand new Westin Wellness Escapes series, a unique getaway option for visitors of all athletic levels to improve and maintain wellbeing with the help of fitness gurus. The first two retreats kick off a season of healthy habits from coast to coast:

  • The Women’s Strength Nation LIVE with Fitness Expert Holly Perkins at The Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter will fill a pumped up weekend, April 10-12. This strength training retreat for women will enable attendees to achieve next level fitness through a multitude of educational sessions on conditioning and strength training and morning workouts. Participants will learn techniques and methods derived from Holly’s Women’s Strength Nation platform to discover personal strength through the development of outer strength.
  • For participants and cheerleaders alike, the Triathlon Recovery Retreat with RunWESTIN Concierge Chris Heuisler at The Westin Jekyll Island (GA) on May 16-17 serves to celebrate the resort opening in relaxing style. As part of the Jekyll Island Turtle Crawl Triathlon, The Westin Jekyll Island is hosting a 24-hour triathlon recovery retreat, hosted by RunWESTIN Concierge, Chris Heuisler. Westin racers will spend the weekend learn about race recovery and participating in group meditation and yoga sessions.

More Wellness Escapes are on the horizon and definitely sound better to me than an overcrowded, dimly lit gym in the city.
