A Limited Edition Nail Polish Launches to Support Sandy Hook Victims

While new nail polish shades are often introduced in honor of celebs and new movie releases, OPI has created a limited-edition green nail polish in partnership with Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit organization that was founded after the school shootings in Newton, CT. Not available for sale, Sandy Hook Green will be given to anyone who donates $10 or more at the upcoming Salon-a-Thon event at Ricci's Salon and Spa (Newtown) this Sunday. The polish was the brainchild of two Newtown moms whose children survived the Sandy Hook shootings. In an effort to deal with the pain caused by the incident, they came up with the idea of creating a green nail polish while having their own nails painted a similar color. Symbolic to the tragedy, green is one of the two school colors at Sandy Hook Elementary and is now associated with the gun control movement. It's yet another reason to go green.
