Skincando Gives Back Through Operation Sand Flea

Always happy to share a great story, I often find myself just as interested in how a skincare company got its start as in the products themselves. Recently, I learned of a company called Skincando, which was created by licensed esthetician and organic beauty specialist Sara Damelio. After finding herself unemployed, Damelio began experimenting at home with a KitchenAid mixer. Having battled with problem skin, she was particularly determined to find a natural solution to her skincare woes. What she came up with was Combat-Ready Balm, a multi-tasking cream originally used by soldiers in the field. While the company now features numerous products, part of its mission is to give back to U.S. troops. As a result, Damelio created a nonprofit organization called Operation Sand Flea, which has equipped more than 10,000 military service men and women with skincare products to help protect them from bug bites, sunburn, and other environmental conditions. What skincare stories do you find inspiring?
