Top Summer Spa Treatments

If your clients are anything like me, their spa needs change drastically from winter to summer. As such, you need to update your spa menus accordingly. To help you out, Spa Development International is offering their picks for the top spa treatments for summer. Do you agree with their thoughts on the hottest treatments for the season?

1. Focus on Feet
Pack away the boots, and bring on the strappy sandals and wedges. This means our feet are on show so it’s time to deal with cracked heels, dry skin, and neglected toenails. A deluxe pedicure with a paraffin wax dip is perfect to deeply nourish dry heels, leaving feet ready for display. The polish trend this summer is to experiment with pastels, metallic greys, and sleek nude colours, as well as light cool blues or bright yellows and purples to add a bit of excitement.

2. De-Fuzz
It’s time to wax! Skin needs to be well moisturised and exfoliated to avoid ingrown hairs. Other alternatives are threading, sugaring, and even permanent laser hair removal. There are many spa options available from strip wax to hot and cold wax. The results will always be smoother and longer lasting (and less painful) when visiting a professional.

3. Body Polish
If you find that your clients' skin doesn’t seem to absorb all the moisturizer they apply, it’s probably because the pores are blocked by dead skin cells. A full body exfoliation or body polish will remove all this and re-mineralise the skin. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and keeps skin healthy, which will also prevent break-outs. A professional spa exfoliation will also help prolong self-tan color and prevent streaking.

4. Hands
The back of the hands are one of the first areas to show signs of aging with sun damage, pigmentation, and loss of tone. Advise your clients to into summer using an excellent SPF hand cream and regular spa manicures. While nail colours range from nude to pastels, there are also some shocking brights, but you can’t beat a classic French manicure.

5. Skin
Your clients may like the healthy look a tan gives them, but the skin takes a hammering from the sun that may not be immediately visible. Advise them to always use sunscreen, kick start the process with a good deep cleansing and hydrating spa facial. Also use intensive masks that focus on hydrating the skin once or twice a week. Boosters work best when layered underneath a moisturizer and toners even out skin porosity.
