Trendy Sweat

The beginning of the new year is the perfect time to reevaluate what's on your menu and how your spa can improve. It's the business version of a New Year's Resolution, but one that will stick. This may be the year to add new fitness classes to help spa-goers follow through on their own exercise endeavors. The American College of Sports Medicine polled thousands of fitness pros across the world to determine what the biggest workout trends will be and found that bodyweight training is expected to top the charts. Because it includes squats, lunges, pushups, planks, and more basic no-equipment required moves it's an easy addition. High intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts still rank at number two, so wellness seekers still appreciate a good sweaty workout. And yoga remains in the top ten, so no reason to drop this spa staple. Zumba, on the other hand, dropped to number 28 according to the survey.
