Using Media Outlets to Reach Multiple Audiences

Robyn Spieler, owner and founder of Reiki & Rouge and creator of the Everyday Beauty Podcast with Robyn Spieler, offers insight on how to expand and grow your audience.

With the beauty and wellness industry expanding and digital trends on the rise, industry leaders and influencers are becoming more creative with their resources and using various media outlets to reach new heights. The spa industry is a deeply therapeutic experience that allows us to build meaningful relationships based on trust. But in a world that is expanding, we are simply seeking more. Life is not as linear as it used to be. We are now, more than ever, noticing more artists and creative minds coming to the forefront and shining their light in diverse and unconventional ways.

It’s time to think outside the box and imagine new ways of creating. From Instagram to Pinterest, how do we elevate our brand voice without getting lost in the mix? Podcasting for beginners is a great place to begin by building your brand voice and exuding confidence. You don’t have to be an expert when you first start out.

When I first started my business, my vision was to help women feel empowered from the inside out. I built everything from the ground up - from Reiki to feng shui - starting my own business has certainly been challenging, but also deeply rewarding in a multitude of ways. As an entrepreneur, it is one thing to provide a service, yet with today’s social media trends on the rise, we also have the added pressure to be our own content creators and brand ambassadors all at the same time.

I was never someone who felt comfortable being in the forefront of a camera or social media, yet I knew I had something important to share – so instead of suppressing my own gifts, I decided to explore it. Speaking openly and vulnerably is not something I ever considered to be a natural trait. When I decided to create my podcast, Everyday Beauty with Robyn Spieler, I wanted to create a space where people felt comfortable enough to be themselves in a natural way. Realizing this has been something I had longed for as well, both personally and professionally. It wasn’t about judgment or making new followers, but rather an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and equally explore new opportunities with others. As the leading character of your reality, it is important to pull from your resources and use material that not only reflects who you are and the position you are in, but also how you view the world and the relationships you have.

Building your platform is a personal experience that has taught me six things after a year of podcasting:

  • Building confidence from the inside out is something that takes time and patience.
  • Don’t give up (especially when times get tough)! Be consistent and note your progress.
  • Imposter syndrome is a real thing. Building trust in yourself means learning to fail and then picking yourself right up. You are worthy, and if it’s something you’ve considered exploring, then it’s worth a shot!
  • Your habits reflect your choices. Make choices that reflect who you want to be, not where you’ve been and what you’ve seen. Building trust means tuning into your intuition and listening to your gut.
  • People will have an opinion no matter what; do what makes you shine and speak from your heart.
  • Sharing your story with others creates so much opportunity for growth. You never know whose life you will impact simply by being yourself.

Using your voice to empower others is an innate gift. Find what lights you up to help you expand and grow your audience!
