What your employees at your front desk say and write can hurt you!

I recently guest spoke at an event and the next day, a floral delivery truck came with a bouquet for me. What a happy surprise! He delivered the most gorgeous monochromatic array of flowers in a unique square vase. I have never seen such a unique and beautiful arrangement ever. It made my afternoon and was such a lovely gesture.

I read the personal note card that came with the flowers and quickly my happiness came to a halt. While the words were beautiful, there was a problem. It read “Thank you for sharing "raise" of sunshine and beauty tips with us last night…

I was so shocked! I realize mistakes happen BUT…as a business owner, I felt sorry for the flower shop owner. The front desk is the most important desk in the spa! Error like this can leave a lasting negative impact.

For years I have expressed to my staff how important spelling is and how we say things counts too! This is a perfect example of that.

As much as I loved that floral arrangement and adored their fabulous floral work. I would never order a bouquet to be delivered. I do not want this to happen to someone I give a bouquet to.

Words said or printed shout volumes. Your thoughts?
