AMERICAN SPA EXPO AND AMERICAN SPA & SKIN CARE CONFERENCE TO BE CO-LOCATED WITH IBS NEW YORK

Dedicated to skin and spa professionals, the American Spa Expo is the premier marketplace for exhibitors of skincare, body care, makeup/cosmetics, spa services and equipment and the buyers who need them. Highlighting the best the industry has to offer from leading manufacturers in the industry, including Repechage, Dermalogica, Sothys and Atelier Esthetique, the expo takes place Sunday, March 9 through Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at the Jacob J. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Show hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Presented by American Spa magazine and co-located with the International Beauty Show, the American Spa Expo features a separate show floor, creating an esthetically pleasing atmosphere ideally suited for the skin and spa professional to conduct business with the companies that serve them. IBS New York is the largest and longest running professional beauty trade show in the world.

In addition to viewing the latest in products and services, attendees are invited to participate in the second annual American Spa & Skin Care Conference. The two-day conference, which begins on Sunday, March 9, features estheticians, dermatologists and massage therapists presenting a variety of educational seminars. A $325 per person fee covers the cost of the conference and includes a two-day pass for the American Spa Expo and IBS New York.

Leading off the conference on Sunday, March 9, ISPA president Jeff Kohl will present a discussion on the state of the industry. Also of note on Sunday, a panel of experts will discuss the ethnic skincare market and Dr. Howard Murad will discuss common dermatological diseases.

On Monday, March 10, Lydia Sarfati will begin the day with a session about men's grooming. Other notable seminars include a panel discussion about the health of the spa profession which will encompass various economic issues; how to master the media with moderator Mary Bemis; and problem and acne-prone skin: causes and treatment with Dr. Mark Lees.
