CORPORATE HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMS BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR SPAS

A new survey of 960 large employers by Hewitt Associates, a global HR outsourcing and consulting firm , found that 95 percent of surveyed organizations offer some form of health promotion program, an increase of 7 percent since 1995.

The increase in demand for these types of programs represents the recognition that these types of programs are cost effective. Health promotion programs have the potential to provide cost savings to the corporation by reducing absenteeismn and turnover, as well as improving morale.

Over 70% of the large employers surveyed offer education and training programs to encourage employees to assume greater responsibility for their health. This number is proof that spas have a huge opportunity to offer corporate wellness programs in their area. 36% offer on-site fitness facilities.
