Dermalogica Holds Largest Congress in Brand History

Dermalogica Congress Las VegasThis summer, Dermalogica assembled its tribe of professional skin therapists for the Dermalogica Congress at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. The two-day summit was the brand’s largest gathering with 2,500 attendees representing more than 60 countries. Throughout the event, themed Only Connect, industry professionals had the opportunity to network and bond with each other and learn from 33 presentations beginning and concluding with words from founder and chief visionary Jane Wurwand. Guest speakers included other leaders from Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute and industry experts from around the globe, who shared revolutionary business concepts, retail insights, consumer trends, advances in digital marketing and technology, and new product demonstrations.

Congress was held soon after Unilever acquired Dermalogica as part of its new Prestige Personal Care division. As such, Vasiliki Petrou, SVP of Prestige for Unilever, shared her insights on the future of Dermalogica and the new partnership with Unilever. “The potential we can have together is just unstoppable, unbeatable,”she said. “This is the unbeatable Tribe.” Charlotte Settle, global marketing for Unilever, also presented and focused on global trend research and how it relates to professional skincare. They painted a bright future for the industry as a whole and Dermalogica as a brand. “The professional skincare industry, although fluid and always changing, is poised to have the greatest impact on our planet of any industry, because we are really the last industry that reaches out and literally is changing the world with our bare hands,”says Wurwand. “We are touching people with our physical touch, with our emotions, and with our kindness.”
