IECSC Takes On Las Vegas

The International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference (IECSC) Las Vegas, held alongside the International Beauty Show (IBS), attracted more than 21,000 spa and beauty professionals to Sin City. Among the highlights were more than 600 exhibitors, free manufacturer classes, and a variety of business-building sessions, including the Spa Business Conference and Advanced Business Seminars and workshops from CIDESCO Section USA. “The strength of this show is indicative of the continually expanding and evolving spa industry,” says Liza Wylie, vice president of spa, beauty, and wellness for Questex Media. “2014 was a milestone year for us as we rolled out a new registration system—greener, easier, and virtually seamless for all participants. We couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Spa owners, managers, estheticians, cosmetologists, massage therapists, medical estheticians, and doctors gathered at IECSC Las Vegas to learn about the current trends in the spa industry, view live demonstrations, and discover new techniques from leading educators. Guests also had the opportunity to purchase products from manufacturers and suppliers who showcased the latest in facial treatments, retail products, cosmetics, laser and microdermabrasion equipment, and more. Participating companies included Blinc, Clarisonic, FarmHouse Fresh, Pevonia, and Repêchage, among others. Amid the busy exhibit floor, attendees were invited to vote for their favorite booth at the American Spa booth for the chance to win a $250 gift card. HIllary Larson, esthetician and junior educator for Rhonda Allison; Mandy Taliercio, LMT, LE, CEO of Spa Aloha (San Diego); and Holly Amestica, owner and cosmetologist of Look So Fabulous Facials (Blythe, CA) each won a gift card. The three winners for this year’s Best Booth Award are Edge Systems/HydraFacial, FarmHouse Fresh, and Jane Iredale–The Skin Care Makeup. “The packed aisles at IECSC Las Vegas resonated with energy, and attendees demonstrated a drive to do business that was evidenced by the great results had by exhibitors,” says Kathy Gruttadauria, show director of IECSC events. “Re-sign for the 2015 event was our strongest yet. We are excited to move back to the central halls next year and look forward to meeting this growing demand with many more stellar events.”
