Santa Barbara, CA — Spa Publisher Michelle Gamble has announced the promotion of Julie Sinclair to editor for the lifestyle publication. Sinclair previously served as senior editor for the magazine.

"Julie is the natural successor for the top spot at Spa," Gamble says. "She, like the magazine, presents a contemporary view of the spa experience and is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration our readers need in pursuing the lifestyle emboldened by a spa visit."

Before joining World, Sinclair served as editor-in-chief at American Spa, an industry trade publication. She had also been executive editor for American Spa as well as its sister title, American Salon. Starting her career at Hachette Filipacchi's Woman's Day, she went on to become managing editor at its special publications division. She has also worked as executive editor for Hearst Specials, managing editor for Bridal Guide and special projects editor for This Old House magazine.

"In today's busy world, many of us don't make time for ourselves to slow down, get centered and take a few breaths," Sinclair says. "Spa, which focuses on healthy living, travel and renewal, is about doing just that. It's wonderful to work on a magazine that promotes well-being as well as feeling beautiful from the inside out. That's what our readers want, and what they look forward to reading about in each issue."

Spa is published seven times a year by World Publications, which specializes in travel and luxury lifestyle titles. In addition to Spa, World's market-leading magazines include Saveur, Islands, Garden Design and Caribbean Travel & Life.
