Marriott International and Leisure Sports, Inc have announced plans to open a second Renaissance ClubSport Hotel in Aliso Viejo, an upscale planned community in Orange County. The unique boutique-style hotel and sports and fitness resort is scheduled to open in early 2006. 'The reaction to the first Renaissance ClubSport was overwhelmingly positive and we're very excited to again be partnering with Leisure Sports on a second project,' said Sid Yu, senior vice president, full-service brand management, Marriott International.
The Aliso Viejo location will mirror the Renaissance ClubSport in Walnut Creek, CA, and will feature a 175-room hotel and a 67,300 square-foot membership-based sports club with state-of-the-art cardiovascular, circuit and free weight equipment, basketball, volleyball, racquetball and squash courts, and group exercise studios. An outdoor aquatic area will offer three swimming pools, a whirlpool, bocce courts and a garden patio for special events.
