Osmosis Pür Medical Skincare Educates Kids on Sun Safety

Students at the Shelly True Dance Academy in Littleton, CO learn about sun protection & skin care awareness with Osmosis.

During Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Osmosis Pür Medical Skincare is focusing on educating children and teenagers. The skincare company has launched a new sun safety program for the students at the Shelly True Dance Academy (Denver) to combat the alarming rise in skin cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime. Of those cases, 90 percent result from overexposure to the sun and 23 percent cases occur by the age of 18.

Girls ages three to 18 at the Shelly True Dance Academy will receive a variety of sunscreen products, including Shade Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen Moisturizer, Protect Ultra Sheer SPF 30, and Harmonized Water UV Neutralizer and an array of other sun shielding items such as hats and umbrellas. Osmosis will also provide internal training and outreach to current customers, estheticians, and spas worldwide, but the brand’s main goal for spreading cancer awareness is to reach today’s youth. “Osmosis’ main focus is creating and maintaining healthy skin,” says founder and CEO Ben Johnson, M.D. “This includes efforts to prevent skin cancer both through DNA repair and sun protection. It is important to start safe sun practices at an early age, so we are delighted to be able to help where we can. Many times, the dance troops perform on outdoor stages; we thought this would be a great opportunity to help locally and educate each young girl about the importance of sunscreen.”
