Preeminent Business Expert Jim Collins to Keynote 2007 ISPA Conference

Jim CollinsWith his books as fixtures on bestseller lists and his teachings being followed by corporations around the world, Jim Collins now turns his attention to the spa industry. Collins will share his secrets on turning good companies into great ones during the 2007 International SPA Association Conference & Expo, Nov. 12-15 in Kissimmee, Fla., USA. The "Good to Great" author will be the opening keynote speaker on Monday, Nov. 12.

"For years, Jim Collins has been at the top of ISPA's keynote speaker 'wish list.' As he only accepts a limited amount of speaking proposals each year, Collins' decision to speak at the 2007 ISPA Conference & Expo is a true testament to the validity of the spa industry," said ISPA Chairman Jim Root. "This year began with the ISPA Board watching a tape of Collins at its January meeting. In March, we incorporated the principles of 'Good to Great' into planning strategically meetings with the ISPA and ISPA Foundation boards, past chairmen and task force co-chairs. In November, the Jim Collins experience will come full circle for spa professionals worldwide during the ISPA Conference & Expo."

Considered to be one of the most important and influential business thinkers of our time, Collins has dedicated more than 10 years to researching the topic of how good companies can become great ones. He has authored four books including "Built to Last," a fixture on BusinessWeek's bestseller list for more than six years, and "Good to Great," which has sold 2.5 million copies and has been translated into 32 languages.

On Nov. 11, Collins will offer tips tailored to ISPA Conference attendees on being an effective manager, CEO and industry leader. By diving into the opportunities and challenges that come from being part of the spa community, Collins will address where the industry stands today, where it has come from and how to make it a great, powerful and sustainable industry of the future.

"ISPA attendees will be coached on the elements necessary to take their own companies on the voyage from good to great," said ISPA President Lynne Walker McNees. "As Imagine is this year's Conference theme, it is so exciting to have Jim Collins as a partner in imagining the possibilities of spa industry sustainability."
