LOS ANGELES-- The Sports Club Company Inc. has signed a lease to develop The Sports Club/LA in Beverly Hills, CA. The new Sports Club/LA will be a two-story 40,000 square foot Club at 9601 Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of the Beverly Hills retail and commercial district.
'We have been looking for a Beverly Hills development opportunity for some time and this location at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Camden in the heart of Beverly Hills is ideal. A number of the city's most prominent businesses have expressed their enthusiasm about our new location and have pledged their support in assisting us with gaining the necessary city approvals to build our new Club,' stated Rex Licklider, co-chief executive officer. 'This Club is the first of what we envision as a number of smaller, very exclusive Clubs developed in clusters around our larger Clubs in San Francisco, Washington D.C., Boston and New York City. The new Club will reportedly offer a wide variety of fitness activities including a large, fully equipped gym with state-of-the-art weight training and cardio equipment, group exercise classes, Pilates, yoga and group cycling studios, private training, and a destination cityspa offering massage, facials and full body treatments and a café, according to the company.
