Westin Unveils Heavenly Bath Program

Heavenly Bath--an in-room, do-it-yourself spa program--was unveiled by Westin Hotels & Resorts in New York City this week. The program featured a massaging shower and oversize spa amenities.

The new program was introduced in style by Barry Sternlicht, chairman/CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. The upscale bathroom concept follows Westin's successful Heavenly Bed program, introduced two years ago.

The new Heavenly Bath features a custom-designed Speakman shower with two heads (built for two persons), a new curved shower curtain rod with eight additional inches of elbowroom, an oversized Brazilian cotton bath towel, a velour bathrobe, and new spa amenities.

Starwood is spending approximately $10 million to replace the showers and amenities in 32,000 rooms at 70 Westin hotels across North America.

The new dual-head shower features five adjustable jets and several spray options from light to massage; each showerhead can be turned on and operated separately to create a custom shower experience. 'Two heads are definitely better than one,' remarked Sternlicht.
