The Reef Playacar Resort and Spa (Playa del Carmen, Mexico) recently unveiled its fully renovated, signature spa, Ome, named for Ometeotl, the Mexican mythological god of creation representing union and duality. The spa features a varied and creative menu of luxury treatments, in addition to mindful body exercises set among the property’s verdant landscape. The 1,000-square-foot facility has been renovated with earthy elements of rich wood, grounding stones and soothing water fixtures, providing an organic and indulgent upgrade.
Additionally, the spa takes full advantage of the sumptuous greenery that surrounds it by providing daily circuit training classes through its unique “Selvatic Gym.” These guided outdoor workouts allow participants to attune their senses to the natural environment while strengthening different muscle groups. At the spa, guests can choose from a variety of treatments, such as the “4 Elements” treatment, which uses Himalayan salt stones and Bao Bao oils; “Kanabi,” a curative experience used to reduce inflammation and muscle pain; and a series of body treatments like Xocolatl, Mexiko, and Xochitl. In addition, the spa offers a rich menu of facials, Swedish massages, deep-tissue massages, reflexology and hot stone treatments.
