The Spa at The Palms Turks and Caicos

Situated right off the pristine, turquoise-blue natural world, The Spa at The Palms Turks and Caicos lets spa-goers soak up the sea breezes and indulge in luxurious island-inspired services. Designed by Angel Stewart and formerly a Regent Resort, the 25,000-square-foot spa is tucked away in a tranquil acre of the beachfront property with stand-alone treatment rooms lining a calm canal. Each offers ample room for relaxation and is accented with a water feature by day and fire by night. Duos can relax in one of two couples’ spa suites, which are outfitted with a private shower and patio. Not to be missed is time in one of the Zareeba huts (Zareeba is an African phrase meaning protected enclosure) to experience the bespoke steam treatment. The Zareeba ($75, 25 minutes) is reputed to alleviate a variety of ailments ranging from fevers and colds to rashes and provides the perfect prelude to services from the rest of the menu. Guests sit in the Zareeba hut inhaling steaming herbs from a clay pot, clearing their minds, and sweating out toxins. Other highlights include Caribbean-inspired treatments such as the Mother of Pearl Scrub ($90, 25 minutes; $155, 50 minutes), which uses a precious blend of hand-crushed local queen conch shells and aromatherapy to gently revitalize and soften skin. The extended service also includes a massage and application of mother of pearl body milk. Spa-goers can also burn off indulgent island meals with yoga, Pilates, and specialized small-group classes held in the studio and lawn or linger longer on loungers in the quiet relaxation areas.
