How do you prepare for the holiday season, and what promotions do you have planned?

spa holiday promotions“We plan seasonal  promotions that focus on our favorite holiday activities: shopping and socializing. In December, Holiday Bubbles & Blowouts invites guests to enjoy a chilled glass of Italian prosecco in our luxurious Spa Salon as we shampoo and style their locks for holiday celebrations. This year, our Spa Holiday Trunk Show on Dec. 5 will feature top retailers sharing their beauty collections; cosmetics; yoga, lounge, and fitness apparel; jewelry; candles; gourmet spa teas; home goods; and gifts. It’s the perfect opportunity to stop by the Spa Boutique and find that perfect gift for some lucky people on our guests’ holiday shopping lists.”—Robin Dunivin, spa director, The Spa at Pelican Hill at The Resort at Pelican Hill (Newport Coast, CA)

“We create seasonal spa  packages that we sell only for the holidays. We have a big shopping day the Thursday before Christmas. We have refreshments, discounts on products, and we do a spa dollar shopping promotion. So for every $100 gift certificate purchased, the customer gets $20 worth of pre-printed spa dollars that is good for future services. We also set up a giving tree to give back to our community through an organization called Christmas is for Children. We buy gifts, and we get our clients involved, as well. We delivered more than 150 gifts to children who would not have had a Christmas gift without ours.”—Susan Barbaglia, owner, Skin Deep Salon and Spa (New Providence, NJ)

“Summer and the festive season  are our peak periods when the hotel is at its busiest. More guests mean more demand for treatments, so we make sure our staffing is at full capacity. We’re also prepared to deliver more detoxifying treatments. Detox Day, great for the holiday season, begins with a 45-minute consultation with our naturopath and wellness practitioner plus a colon hydrotherapy treatment, which is ideal for those wanting to take self care to the next level with the guidance of one of the UK’s most experienced complementary and alternative medicine practitioners.”—Victoria Calcutt, spa director, The Spa by ESPA at The Gleneagles Hotel (Perthshire, Scotland)

spa holiday promotions“For the holidays this year, we are excited to offer spa and salon programs incorporating organic berries, such as cranberries, red currants, and pomegranates. Berries are tiny powerhouses filled with essential antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. They are the key to healthy, nourished, and youthful-looking skin. They help minimize inflammation and are especially beneficial to repairing skin damage. From November through January, we will be offering the Red Currant Facial, the Cranberry and Pomegranate Scrub and Wrap, and the Cranberry and Pomegranate Manicure and Pedicure.”—Michelle Kelthy, spa director, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Naples (FL)

“For the holiday season, the spa will be featuring our signature apothecary handmade products in seasonal winter-inspired massage oils and scrubs. For each treatment, our guests can choose their preferred blend of fall flavors—from crisp and wintery to a taste of Maui with tropical island scents to custom-blend oils, lotions, and scrubs to use in treatments or to take home as gifts. Last year, we created a truly unique guest experience with handmade batches of delicious peppermint and vanilla sugar scrubs and layered each bottle in red and white. The apothecary consultants also incorporated peppermint and vanilla into the massage portion of our manicures and pedicures along with local island ingredients, including beeswax, fresh mango butter, and grapeseed oil.”—Jackie Yulo, spa director, ‘Awili Spa and Salon at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort (HI)

“Holidays are so beautiful at the Inn. We really go old school throughout the property with many lifelong traditions for our guests and neighbors. We deck the halls with fresh spruce garlands. Pastry chefs make a life-size gingerbread house, and the spa is all about the gift of giving. Spa gift cards are packaged in a box with Champagne and ribbons, and we have a curbside-to-go offering for all of our gift givers. One of our spa treatments offered for the holiday season is our Winter Made Fresh Daily treatment, an 80-minute service that includes brown sugar, figs, maple syrup, and vanilla. It’s a beautiful combination of a massage, a scrub, a wrap, and a cinnamon-scalp massage. So yummy.”—Kate Santarsieri, spa director, The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn (San Diego)
