ASTECC UNVEILS RESORT SPA MANAGEMENT CLASS

New Graduate Level Course Will Offer Unique Perspective and Focus on the Resort Spa Industry

LAKE OZARK, Mo.-The American Spa Therapy Education and Certification Council recently announced that it will offer the spa industry's first-ever "Resort Spa Management" course. The course will build on ASTECC's traditional spa management course by addressing the working relationship between spa and resort as well as such areas as retailing, staff performance, and identity.

The new course equips students with strategies for meeting the challenges of seasonal business, including occupancy changes and staffing issues. In addition, students learn the details of day-to-day operations, budgeting, and the dynamics of the hospitality industry. "The ASTECC curriculum is designed to create the most highly qualified spa professionals, and to achieve that end, it was necessary to refine our spa management course into two sections," said Ann Brown, ASTECC treasurer and instructor of the Resort Spa Management course. "The continuing boom of the industry demands more and more from the spa manager, and those professionals that want to move forward with their careers need a course that answers specific questions."

ASTECC will offer its first Resort Spa Management course Monday, April 28 through Thursday, May 1 at Spa Shiki at the Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Missouri. The course offers 32 hours of credit, and special lodging rates are available for interested students. For more information, visit ASTECC online at www.asteccse.com or call 888-241-2095.
