Developlus Haircare Brand Certified as Woman-Owned and Operated Business

Southern California hair color and formula development company, Developlus, recently received accreditation and certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

The national standard of certification is a thorough process, including an in-depth review of the business designed to confirm that a business is at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. Developlus, a family business, is 93.3 percent women-owned by CEO Kiran Agrey and chairman Ann Agrey, Kiran’s mother. Additionally, the staff is made up of 67 percent female employees and the top executives at the firm are primarily women.

“Almost three decades ago my parents founded Developlus in our family home, experimenting with color formulations and innovative products, never imagining it would grow to the size it is now,” says Kiran Agrey. “From day one, Developlus has always valued the importance of inclusion and diversity within the workplace and empowering everyday women to be themselves and declare their independence and individuality through hair color.”

Developlus’ facility is both ISO 9001:2008 and GMP certified, both of which ensure quality standards, and is located in Corona, California where products move all the way through the creation process from design to shipment within the facility to ensure quality standards. The majority of their products are vegan certified, and all are cruelty-free.
