Ringing Up Retail

Here, he shares a few of his tips for building customer loyalty and encouraging spending into 2012.

  •  Use social media to gain followers and instill urgency. According to Koploy, one successful tactic is to promote daily deals through Twitter.
  •  Partner with mobile shopping app vendors to build loyalty. Check-in shopping tools, such as Foursquare and Shopkick, can encourage customers to visit your spa boutique and purchase promotional items in exchange for loyalty points.
  •  Extend return policies to encourage gift purchases.
  • Offer reduced or free shipping to entice online purchasing.
