His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, will deliver the keynote address at the Global Spa & Wellness Summit’s annual conference. The Dalai Lama is winner of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize and the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for the global environment. “There is no other conference that gives wellness and spa industry executives and leaders from around the world the opportunity to come together at one location,” said Susie Ellis, chairman and CEO of the Summit. “We are deeply honored that His Holiness will be a keynote speaker.”
Describing himself as a simple Buddhist monk, His Holiness has received over 84 awards, honorary doctorates and prizes in recognition of his message of peace, non-violence, inter-religious understanding, universal responsibility and compassion.
The 2013 Summit will take place from October 5-7 at The Oberoi Gurgaon in New Delhi for the first time.
