Decline in Enrollement at Cosmetology Schools Contributes to Labor Shortage

Cosmetology enrollment down in the United States according to a recent report. The Annual cosmetology school reports show that enrollment continues to decline each year, as it has over the past five years. The drop in new student enrollment went from 89,000 in 1994 to 71,000 in 1999.

This could spell an even greater labor shortage than the spa industry is currently experiencing. Advanced training and employee incentives will be a key to keeping good people working in your spa.
