Sea Island (GA) announced the appointment of Ella Stimpson as spa director of the resort’s renowned Spa at Sea Island, which has received the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star award for six consecutive years and was recently named the number four spa in the continental U.S in Travel + Leisure’s 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards. Stimpson will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the 65,000 square-foot spa, including developing innovative treatments, services and classes, and leading a staff of therapists, consultants, and providers. She comes to Sea Island from Las Vegas, where she recently served as executive director of spa operations for Wynn and Encore Las Vegas, the first casino spa to be awarded a Forbes Five-Star rating. During her time in Las Vegas, Stimpson also served as chairman of the International Spa Association (ISPA) from 2011 to 2013, where she continues to serve on the board of directors. “With her vast industry experience, passion, and creativity, Ella is well-suited to lead the Spa at Sea Island,” says managing director Rick Riess. “We are thrilled that she will lend her expertise to our continued goal of revitalizing guests through an array of curated treatments and amenities designed to inspire health and well-being.”
