ESPA to Enter Romanian Spa Market in 2010

British ESPA company, the biggest player in the international spa market, will enter the Romanian market in 2010, after the finalization of Silver Mountain residential project in the mountain resort of Poiana Brasov, center of Romania, worth 350 million euros.

ESPA's partners will be Trend Hospitality, which is coordinating the operations at local level of Wyndham hotel chain. The spa in Romania is the first of the company in Eastern Europe.

Silver Mountain project, to be built on an area of 700,000 sq m, will include a luxury hotel, operated under Radisson brand, a golf court, apartments, villas, cinema halls, restaurants, a heliport.

ESPA CEO and founder Susan Harmsworth told the daily Business Standard that she is considering the development of three more projects in Bucharest, but a firm decision in this respect is to be made in at least three years. She also said that she counts, for the unit to be opened, both on foreign and on Romanian clients.

On the Romanian spa market, present are local brands such as Ana Aslan Health Spa and Eden Spa. Five-star hotels have spa centers.
