WHEN: April 20, 2009
WHERE: Golden Gate Club in the Presidio, San Francisco

Green Spa Network, the leader in greening the spa industry, will host a one-day conference on how to make your spa successful and sustainable. Participants will see how green initiatives conserve resources, raise staff morale, generate untapped marketing opportunities, and position spas to enhance their role as responsible guardians of human and planetary wellbeing.

Chip Conley, the keynote presenter, will lead an interactive session focused on his methods for how hospitality businesses can succeed in a down economy. Chip is founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, California's largest boutique hotel company. His book, PEAK: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow, is becoming a classic on creating peak experiences for staff and guests.

The conference also features a demonstration of GSN's Sustainability Awareness Tool (SAT) developed by and for members at our GSN congress to create a meaningful user friendly pathway to spa sustainability. This interactive session will provide you with an authentic spa greening program designed for spa professionals.

A Personal Care Advisory Forum will define the touchstones that make up authentic "green" personal care and present recommended buying guidelines for making your choices.

Multiple networking opportunities throughout the day will promote the exchange of information, greening tips, and other aspects of maintaining a viable green business.

Successful sustainability has become a necessary element in any business. Spas in particular are resource-intensive and strong promoters of health and wellness. They are also in a unique position to convey the sustainability message to their guests in a variety of subtle ways.
