Gurney’s Montauk & Seawater Spa Announces Kathleen Hahn as New Spa DirectorGurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa (NY) announced Kathleen Hahn, a spa industry veteran with over fifteen years experience, has joined the reimagined management team as spa director for Seawater SpaHahn’s appointment comes on the heels of several new hires with stellar service background for the resort, including general manager Michael Nenner, formerly of Four Seasons. 

Prior to joining Gurney’s, Hahn held the role of spa director at the St. Regis Bahia Beach in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Prior, she spent time at prestigious spas around the country including The Golden Door Spa at the Waldorf Astoria (Park City, UT) and Hotel Casa del Mar and Shutters on the Beach (Santa Monica, CA).

In this role, Hahn will lead the Seawater Spa team, overseeing day-to-day operations, evolving the spa menu and creating new, inventive treatments that ensure the Seawater Spa continues to exceed at offering the most memorable experiences. Hahn will also steward the renovation of the 32,000 sq. ft. space, providing guidance on the overhaul as part of the resort’s multi-million dollar, multi-phase renovation. The only Thalasso Center in the continental United States, Gurney’s Thalasso marine location allows it to offer programs that utilize seawater and seaweed in a marine enriched environment for therapeutic purposes, both preventative and curative.  Additionally the spa boasts an indoor sand-filtered, ocean-fed, heated sweater pool – the only one of its kind in North America and offering stunning, panoramic views of the ocean. “Kathleen has a strong understanding of the treatments that appeal to today’s luxury travelers,” says Gurney’s President George Filopoulos. “We are confident that her knowledge of the industry will elevate our spa to a level that will complement the additional updates we have made to the property since we began our multi-phase renovation in 2014.”
