Guys Getaway in Georgia

Thanks to a recent spa renovation at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation (Greensboro, GA), guys can now get into the grooming act by checking in to The Gents’ Place. This private room for men features a classic barber chair and a flatscreen television, where gentlemen can partake in shaves with old-fashioned steel razors, shoe shines, mustache trims, haircuts, and nail grooming. Complimentary tastings of bourbons, including the resort’s exclusive small-batch Woodford Reserve blend, are available for guests to savor during any 50- or 80-minute service, many of which are inspired by the boozy beverage. A prime example is the “On The Rocks” Deluxe Straight-Edge Shave ($85, 50 minutes), which includes a pre-shave oil application and massage and a hot towel infused with sandalwood and frankincense; a shaving cream application; a two-step, straight-edge shave; an aftershave mask; a neck and hand massage; an aftershave application of a cold towel infused with peppermint and rosemary; and an aftershave balm. “We wanted to create a combination of exclusive grooming services and extra touches tailored to our male guests,” says spa director Sherrie Huebner. “The Gents’ Place does just that by merging interests that men have always cherished—a good shave and shoe shine, smooth bourbon, and, of course, sports.”
