Beauty Boosting Oil

olive oil spa usesI wholeheartedly enjoy cooking, so for me a day spent in the kitchen hard at work is almost as relaxing as a spa treatment. Almost. That's why I'm excited to share these creative new uses for a kitchen staple, olive oil.

  • Makeup remover: Dabbing olive oil onto a cotton ball can gently and naturally remove makeup. Be sure to thoroughly cleanse the face and apply moisturizer after.
  • Shaving cream or gel: Use olive oil as an all-natural shaving cream replacement. Olive oil is rich in vitamin E and other antioxidants that hydrate the skin and allow for a smooth, razor-burn free shave.
  • Hair conditioner: Olive oil can deeply moisturize and improve shine and health of hair. When used as a weekly deep conditioner, olive oil locks appear sleeker and healthier. Place extra virgin olive oil on the head and wrap plastic around the head to keep steady. Leave in for several hours, and then shampoo.
  • Treating sunburns: The antioxidants in olive oil can also help heal sunburns. Gently apply olive oil to the affected area and massage in.

Are you on board with the oil-pulling trend and recommending it as an additional benefit of oil?
