FarmHouse Fresh Gives Back to Animal Shelters

Farmhouse Fresh charity for dog sheltersSpas consistently provide sublime service to spa-goers, offering comfort and relaxation with products and treatments in a tranquil atmosphere. Now, popular organic skincare and bodycare line FarmHouse Fresh is taking that mission one step further with a new philanthropic venture. The company has put together a charming 18-page picture book Is It True They Call You the Dog Bed Fairy?, which illustrates a tale of shelter dogs’ thoughts when given a dog bed. For every book sold ($10 retail), FarmHouse Fresh donates $7 directly to the purchase of soft, washable dog beds for rescues and shelters across the U.S. Shelters need only fill out a dog bed wish list, and FarmHouse Fresh will grant their wishes with the help of their book-buyer “fairies.” It is estimated that 4 million dogs enter shelters each year and each is need of a bed while waiting for their forever homes."The Dog Bed Fairy Project is having an immediate impact on the quality of life animals have in shelter environments,” says CEO Shannon McLinden. “Our goal is to bring smiles to dog and animal lovers, while providing comfort, warmth and love to our furry friends in shelters, plus raising public awareness of their need for a permanent home."

To spread the news, FarmHouse Fresh invites the spa industry and friends to participate in its interactive social media challenge. After an online purchase of a book, customers will receive an email with instructions on how to become a “Certified Dog Bed Fairy.” After sending a photo of a friend or family member they are gifting to the company, book buyers will get the photo back, customized with angel wings and a halo. Readers can post their photo on social media with the hashtag #DogBedFairy and tagging @FarmHouseFresh. Each month, the company will choose from those who participated in the challenge, and send them a limited-edition poster print of pages from the book.
