Welcome to Miami

As a Canadian, my July celebrations took place on the 1st, when Canada celebrates its own version of Independence Day. Not to be a party-pooper, over the weekend I also celebrated the Fourth of July in New York City, fireworks and all. This month is filled with patriotic parties; 15 countries celebrate their independence in July, and it’s National Ice Cream month to put a cherry on top. In Miami, though, July is home to another more relaxing event: Miami Spa Month. Spas in the area are introducing new specialty treatments and events to celebrate. Here is a selection of Miami Spa Month treatments:

The Mini Summer Escape at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne ($129) treats guests to a 25-minute signature massage, followed by a 25-minute organic Éminence Organic Skin Care facial. A tropical fruit-scented soak and vanilla sugar scrub manicure ends the treatment, and guests receive a complimentary signature mango candle to continue the experience beyond the spa.

The Spa at Turnberry Isle Miami’s offerings include the Rose Renew Treatment ($129, 70 minutes). This healing treatment uses hydrating Bulgarian rose oil that evokes a spiritual feeling of love, sensuality, and romance.

The Spa by ESPA at the Acqualina Resort has reduced the prices of several of their treatments, including their Swedish Massage ($99, 50 minutes), and their Refining Enzyme Facial ($129, 50 minutes), which contains pumpkin and botanical extracts that deeply exfoliate and remove dead skin cells.

The Coconut Milk & Honey Manicure and Pedicure ($99, 80 minutes), and the Feel Your Best Hair Day Treatment ($99, 80 minutes) are just two of the many specially discounted treatments available to guests at The Carillon Hotel & Spa. The Carillon is also offering guests exclusive access to the full property for $75, which includes access to more than 40 fitness classes and wellness lectures, a private beach, four pools, and four dining venues. Even a month might not be long enough to indulge in all the healthy options.

Does your area have a week or month set aside to celebrate spas?
