Hotel Matilda appointed Ledia Camara as spa director of the boutique hotel. Camara, who has 14 years of hotel and resort experience, will be responsible for the operations and creative direction of the award-winning Spa Matilda, which offers guests individually customized treatments and an apothecary showcasing healing traditions. The 4,700-square-foot spa has four treatment rooms including a couple’s room, wellness studio for yoga and Pilates, and a private luxury spa suite featuring a meditation garden, lounge, steam shower, soaking tub, and dedicated grooming area. Camara comes to Hotel Matilda from Esencia resort on Mexico’s Riviera Maya where she was director of the Aroma Spa. Previously, she served as a trainer and spa consultant for Hotel Casa de Sierra Nevada (San Miguel de Allende, Mexico), spa manager of the Portal Vista Hotel (Cuernavaca, Mexico), and therapist and supervisor at Kinan Spa at Maroma resort (Riviera Maya, Mexico). She studied at Estudios Superiores en Hotelería EuroAmérica (ESHEA), the tourism and gastronomy university in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she earned degrees in Hotel Management and Gastronomy.
