The theme was "Balance" and the media were captivated as Spa magazine celebrated its 13th annual Fall Media Event in New York on October 30, 2009. With over 100 media professionals in attendance, the spa industry's hottest places, products and trends presented and demonstrated their latest offerings at the Mandarin Oriental, revealing an industry that remains unquestionably on the upswing.
Among spa, travel and otherwise intrigued media outlets in attendance were Allure, American Spa, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Essence, Fitness, Food & Wine, Fodor's Travel, GQ, Hotel Business, Marie Claire, NY1 — TV, Parade, Pilates Style, Prevention, Real Simple, Redbook, Reuters, Shape, Sherman's Travel, T: The New York Times Magazine, Travel + Leisure and Woman's Day!
The lineup included North American spas and internationally-recognized beauty lines. An afternoon "preview" of what's hot and happening from spa industry innovators offered the opportunity to mix, mingle and connect making it the spa industry's — and Spa's — moment to shine. The convivial showcase proved a tremendous success, as well as a noteworthy foretaste of Spa magazine's annual Spring Media Event, which will be held in Los Angeles in April 2010.
