Amal has more than 10 years of working with luxury brands in communications, events, and marketing, and has worked with major French brands such as Hermès in Mexico City and Chanel in New York. She spearheads implementing the Yon-Ka Paris image and communications across all channels and speaks fluently French, English, and Spanish.
Q: What about your job do you enjoy most?
A: What I enjoy the most is the chance to meet some incredible resourceful professionals in the spa industry who are deeply passionate about making people’s skin feel healthy. Ultimately, nurturing wellness in the most holistic approach at Yon-Ka Paris is incredibly inspiring. Working for Yon-Ka Paris allows me to realize the power of skincare. I am fascinated by products and ingredients and I keep learning so much. I confess that my passion for the beauty industry just keeps growing!
Q: How do you stay passionate about what you do?
A: In a world of constant newness, people have short attention spans. The challenge of my job is to bring attention to Yon-Ka Paris and keep the level of curiosity high. Every day is an opportunity and a requirement to do something different, improve, and experiment with new marketing strategies with my team. It might sound stressful, but for me, it is something that I genuinely value. It is exciting to have every single day be a challenge to do different things and spice up life.
Q: What has been your greatest accomplishment in the industry?
A: Nothing comes easy, and nothing is handed to you. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time can help, but if you can't deliver, then it doesn't matter. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work with a team who trusts me to shake up and revamp Yon-Ka’s brand image - bringing the U.S. market as a reference in terms of marketing initiatives, shining, and inspiring the other markets globally!
Q: How does your company stand out from its competitors?
A: In 1954, when Yon-Ka was created, working with chemicals was the norm in a post-World War II world. Botanical-based skincare was considered old-fashioned or home remedies at the time. Our founders disagreed - they believed in the transformative powers of essential oils, especially Quintessence, our proprietary blend. They married the essential oils with botanical extracts to treat, heal, and restore the skin. Yon-Ka has been "green" since the beginning since before being green was trendy. This gives our brand a long history and expertise with essential oils and botanicals. Many longtime competitors did not work with natural ingredients and had to reestablish and remake themselves through the years to fit trends. At Yon-Ka, we have always stayed true to our roots and brand values.
As a French family brand, we are proud to manufacture all our products in France responsibly and sustainably and continue to honor our legacy by working with essential oils and new generation botanicals, with increased sustainability and kindness for the environment.
Q: How do you incorporate wellness into your daily life?
A: When I wake up, the first thing I do is drink a cup of mint tea with a splash of milk and a sprinkle of sesame seeds—an odd combo, but it has become an addiction! In addition, every single morning I spritz my face with our iconic healing water - Lotion Yon-Ka for a good mood guaranteed!
