Enchantment Group, a leader in the development, management, and experiential programming of hotels, resorts, destination spas, and golf courses, has tapped industry veteran Jim Root to serve as Enchantment Group director of wellbeing. Root will serve in his new role while maintaining his current position as general manager at Mii amo, a destination spa (Sedona, AZ).
“I am excited about this additional role with Enchantment Group and all of the possibilities before us,” says Root. “I look forward to sharing and expanding on the experiences and connections that are nurtured at Mii amo for our guests, teammates and community across the Enchantment Group portfolio and beyond.”
With more than 40 years of professional experience in wellbeing programming development and management, Root brings with him destination resort and spa expertise from luxury properties across the globe, which he will use to further integrate wellbeing at Mii amo and now throughout Enchantment Group as well. In his current role at Mii amo, Root oversees spa programming, property operations, and aids in creating opportunities for personalized guest experiences. Under his leadership, Mii amo was named the Number One Domestic Destination Spa of 2018 by Travel + Leisure and the Number One Resort in the Southwest by Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards. It was also named the Favorite Destination Spa of American Spa’s 2018 Professional’s Choice Awards. Root's colleagues also named him one of the Most Influential Spa Leaders in an early edition of American Spa's Professional's Choice Awards.
In addition to his current responsibilities at Mii amo, Root will spearhead the initiative to establish each Enchantment Group property as a destination for wellbeing, creating fulfilling guest experiences that exceed current resort standards, leading the development of new projects, and providing direction and oversight for wellbeing programming.
