Massage Therapy Foundation Recognizes Outstanding Students

Five students of massage therapy are being recognized by the Massage Therapy Foundation for their achievements in the 2012 Student Case Report Contest. The contest works to promote research literacy in massage therapy schools by encouraging instructors to incorporate research into their existing programs. When students learn to write research case reports, the hope is they will continue to incorporate research into their future practices. The top three students will all receive cash prizes contingent on undergoing a peer review for publication in a scientific journal. The winners are:

First Place Gold Award Winner: Mary Wakefield, New Zealand College of Massage

Second Place Silver Award Winner: Heidie C. Furnin, Cortiva Institute – Seattle, WA

Third Place Bronze Award: Nicole Riou, Grant MacEwan University, Alberta, Canada

Honorable Mentions: Raeann Lisiecki and Danielle Van Holst
