The National Coalition of Estheticians (NCEA) created the "Gerson Award for Excellence in Esthetic Education" in honor of Joel Gerson, author of the Milady Standard Esthetics: Fundamentals textbook. This book paved the way for state regulatory boards and regulation of estheticians through licensure. Applicants must be currently employed as an esthetics teacher and demonstrate excellence in providing esthetic education. All scholarship applications must be received no later than August 31, 2012 and the winner will be awarded the latest Apple iPad and iTunes card with a total value of $600.
